After a short walk/cycle, take your bikes on the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway to Bodmin Parkway.
Once you arrive at the station, leave the train and start cycling back using National Cycle Network Route No. 3. This route will take you uphill through the beautiful Lanhydrock Estate on rough forest tracks, and eventually lead you to a lovely cafe where you can take a well-deserved break.
If you're interested, you can also lock your bikes and explore the historic Lanhydrock House.
Lanhydrock House is a beautiful Victorian country house located near Bodmin in Cornwall. The house was originally built in the 17th century, but was largely destroyed by a fire in 1881. It was then rebuilt in the late 19th century by the prominent Cornish family, the Robartes, who lived there until the mid-20th century.
Alternatively, you can take a leisurely walk around the stunning estate grounds and discover its hidden gems, such as the old outdoor swimming pool. There's plenty to see and do in this wonderful estate, so take your time and enjoy all it has to offer.
After your pit stop, continue on Route No. 3, which alternates between off-road and quiet lanes, until you reach Bodmin town. From there, you'll have a short section on the main road back to the bike hire base.
